A First: The John Lennon Real Love Project
comes to Long Island!

On March 14, 2023, the John Lennon Real Love Project (JLRLP) came to Archer Street School in Freeport, NY. It was the firrt-ever JLRLP held on Long Island. 

To accommodate the needs of the school, program leaders Beth and Scott Bierko worked with five 4th grade classes, resulting in a song with an extra verse. 

The new lyrics celebrate inclusion and kindness: 

You can be different than me

We learn from our diversity 

Everyone at Archer is equal

We’re sharing some love

Instead of cutting people in line

Be peaceful, be patient, be kind

Passing on these positive feelings

In a circle of love

The completed video features inspiring visual messages such as “Believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable” and “Kind words are the music of the world.” At the program’s conclusion, principal Paula Lein said, “Oh my God, that was fabulous! It practically had me crying. It is real love. John Lennon would be proud!”
