Furthering our Positive Impact in a Time of Need

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Theatre Within has provided more than 500 free virtual workshops in creative expression and mindfulness for children, teens and adults impacted by cancer.

Through our partnerships with the Red Door Community (formerly Gilda’s Club NYC) and a growing number of regional cancer support communities, our workshops are reaching more cancer patients, survivors and their family members than ever before. We currently offer workshops in songwriting, art, cartooning, creating personal monologues, writing personal essays and more.

In addition, we provide the John Lennon Real Love Project at no cost to public elementary schools. This visionary songwriting program launched in June 2021 at Livingston Manor Central School in Sullivan County, NY. Since then, we have brought the program to four additional schools in New York and Massachusetts. After learning about John Lennon’s life, music and message of peace, love and equality, students write new lyrics to “Real Love” and record a new version of the song accompanied by John Lennon’s original piano and vocal track.
