The John Lennon Real Love Project is a visionary songwriting workshop in which participants compose their own songs and open their hearts and voices.
With the warm support of Yoko Ono, the John Lennon Real Love Project (JLRLP) launched in 2014 at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx. The following year the workshop moved to Gilda’s Club NYC (known today as the Red Door Community) for children, teens and adults impacted by cancer.
In 2021, the JLRLP was awarded the 2021 imPax Prize for advancing innovative creative expression and music education workshops as instrumental channels for peace, health and well-being. The JLRLP currently reaches cancer patients, survivors and their family members in 9 states, plus Washington D.C., and Canada.
