Our Impact in the Cancer Community
Since 2015 we have provided thousands of free workshops in creative expression and mindfulness to children and adults impacted by cancer. Through our partnership with the Red Door Community and other regional cancer support communities we provide over 200 workshops annually to cancer patients, survivors, and their family members.
“Theatre Within workshops bring solace to our members and keep them coming back for more. The organization’s commitment, dedication, and robust offerings is crucial for us to not only stay open but serve the community as a whole.”
— Nadine Bartholomew, Clinical Program Director , Red Door Community
Our impact in public schools
Since 2021 we have provided the John Lennon Real Love Project to over 25 public elementary and middle schools in NYC, Yonkers, and Nassau, Sullivan and Orange Counties. In this visionary songwriting program, students compose new lyrics to “Real Love” and record their own version of the song with John Lennon’s original piano and vocal tracks.
“Students are going to talk about this experience at home with excitement and the parents are going to be really happy when they see the results. It’s really beautiful. I wish every school in New York City got to do this.”
—Alejandro Molano, Music Teacher., PS 333 — The Manhattan School for Children
OUR impact serving youth in crisis
Through our partnership with Covenant House, New York City’s largest provider of residential services for vulnerable, homeless, runaway and exploited youth, we have provided free programs in songwriting and cartooning.
The Annual John Lennon Tribute
A New York City tradition since 1981, our Annual John Lennon Tribute benefit concert is the only event of its kind in the world to be sanctioned by Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon. All proceeds support our programs for communities in need.
