The John Lennon Real Love Project is a visionary songwriting workshop in which participants, inspired by John Lennon’s music and message, learn to play guitar, compose their own songs and sing their truth.
With the warm support of Yoko Ono, the John Lennon Real Love Project was launched in 2014 at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx. The following year, the workshop found a home at Gilda’s Club NYC. Since then, Theatre Within has provided hundreds of workshops — both on site and online — to children and teens who have lost a parent to cancer and adult cancer patients and survivors.
With the expansion of the workshop to Gilda’s Club Westchester in 2020, the John Lennon Real Love Project currently reaches more people in the New York-metro cancer community than ever before.
